Nantucket Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Inc., D/B/A SeaPony Farm, is a Massachusetts not-for-profit corporation. The Center is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Center is a licensed Massachusetts riding school that offers equine-assisted activities to both children and adults with a wide range of special needs.

The facility offers a wide range of programs for children with developmental disabilities, autism, physical and emotional challenges including a volunteer program for at-risk youth. Also available are family activities and sibling involvement at the Center. An after school Program is available that fosters team building and social skills. SeaPony Farm is a place of emotional as well as physical healing.

The facility is operated on a Volunteer Model with only occasional part time help from teens looking to gain knowledge of horse management and care and career opportunities in the field of therapeutic riding. SeaPony Farm also offers program based community service for younger children to learn volunteerism.

Catherine E. Conte, the owner of the 30-acre property and the Program Director of SeaPony Farm has donated In Kind Contributions to the Center. Each Year, the Center has received the benefit of these donated services, equine, barn and facility rentals as well as the benefits of Ms. Conte’s labor, management, and equine instruction.

Nantucket is a beautiful and magical place to live. However, the Island is at the same time an incredibly expensive place to manage and operate a facility of this nature. On top of that, the economy has crippled the families most in need of our services. Ms. Conte has chosen to give of her time and money so that these children and adults are able to have these services.

Ms. Conte and her family have supported SeaPony Farm financially since its inception in 2005. However, in the past few years, certain foundations, trusts, and private individuals have given their financial support to help SeaPony Farm continue our mission.

Any investment in SeaPony Farm is an investment in the well being of our community. Your investment will make a lasting and tangible difference to the lives of the children and families in the community of Nantucket that we serve.
