I am again inspired and deeply moved by the generosity and willingness to support our programs.
I have to thank my family for their continued financial and moral support in this wonderful project. They have made SeaPony Farm a reality and without their continued support we would not be able to remain open for our programs and services.
I would like to extend a special thank you to William P. Cassidy and Holdgate Partners for their continued help with the SeaPony Farm property building and management. We would not be able to continue our programs and farm without their amazing help.
We were so fortunate to receive a very generous donation this spring from the Tupancy-Harris Foundation of 1986. Their support of our programs allowed SeaPony Farm to offer in need local families services at no charge for the summer season. With their support we were able to donate 127 hours of services to our participants.
We received some wonderful private donations from individuals as well this year.
To Doris and Jerry Randall, Thank you Doris for our two boys, Gracey and Chi Chi. .www.randallstickparkalpacas.com
I would like to thank the Community Foundation for Nantucket for their generous donation to the STAR Program that funded some children for Play Dates during the 2009 Winter Session.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Edwards of Chicago, Illinois, again gave us a very generous donation and we are truly grateful for their continued support and patronage.
Mr. and Mrs. Burch gave us a generous donation In Memory of Wendy Watts’ dear friend, horsewoman and mentor, Sedgious Duncan “Kitty” Schulz (Mrs. Edward Shulz), who resided in Wilton Connecticut.
Mr. Richard A. Johnson, our friend from Islamorada Florida gave us a wonderful donation that touched our hearts.
I would like to thank the Kenneth S. Donnell Trust for their generous donation that has allowed one of our participants to attend riding and Play Dates for the 2009 Fall and Winter Session.
I would like to thank Mary Conway of Mitchells’Book Corner for her lovely and generous in kind donations of books for our SeaPony Farm Library located at the barn.
I would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hughes for their amazing donation of some lovely personal artifacts and books from and about Iceland and the Icelandic Horse.
February thur April: New this Winter Season: Play Dates where the children visit with the horses after school and brush and feed. Occasionally weather permitting we are able to take the horses or mini donkeys for walks along the trails. The participants work on their social skills, learning how to share, cooperate, communicate and care for the animals together.
They also learn how to talk to the horses and donkeys.
